This standard specifies the minimum requirements for filter masks for protection against particles, as means of respiratory protection, except in the case of evacuation. Laboratory tests and user performance tests are performed to assess compliance with the requirements.

Based on the conducted physio-chemical tests, which are in accordance with Oeko-Tex Standard 100, the tested samples of three-layer masks meet the norms of the law on objects of general use.

A three-layer mask is actually a sandwich of two outer layers of material and one inner one that is crucial. The middle layer is a so-called melt-blown material that belongs to the materials of the newer generation.
It is this material that makes three-layer masks effective in filtering and protecting against virus and bacterial particles. The particles are retained on the surface of the material thanks to electrostatics which prevent further expansion.
Melt-blown material has incredible characteristics, in addition to efficient filtration, it is: breathable, flexible, extremely light, non-flammable, easily degradable, non-toxic and suitable for recycling.
